Abstract: My talk will consist of 3 parts. For the first part i will talk about an idea of mining and transfering data between different dimensions in computer graphics. This idea gave rise to several modeling technique for different visual contents, including semantic global image manipulation, feature-aligned surface textures and realtime Bas-relief generation. In the second part I will talk about a latest progress in computational aesthetic, mainly focusing on one unique type: line arts. We show that a hierarchical structure decomposition often introduce a meaningful compilation order of the lines sets. This order could be used to construct a line drawing animation, which reveals the sketching process from a real human artist. In the third part I will shortly demonstrate a technique of synthesizing and retargeting the highly structured images and vector graphics.
Bio: Shizhe Zhou received his B.S degree in computer science and technology in Hunan Normal University in 2005, and the Ph.D. degree in Applied Math from Zhejiang University in 2011. From June 2010 to January 2011, he worked as a research assistant in City University of Hong Kong. After receiving his PHD, he worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Algorithms, Computation, Geometry and Image Department in INRIA Nancy, France. His research interests include computer graphics, graph optimization, image processing, physically-based real time simulation and computational aesthetic. He served by reviewing papers for several peer-reviewed journals and conferences including ACM-TOG, CGF, TVCG, etc.
