摘 要： We discuss the relation between the Gabriel-Roiter measure and the Ziegler spectrum of an artin algebra. Both concepts are powerful but at the same time sophisticated and somehow technical. We illustrate all this by a compactness result for the lattice of submodule closed subcategories which is a recent theorem of Ringel.
