摘要：We start with an overview of classical associative algebras and their representation theory. This leads naturally to the introduction of A_\infty-algebras, which generalize associativity through higher homotopical coherence conditions. We explain the motivation behind A_\infty-algebras—particularly their role in homological algebra, topology and geometry—and outline their historical development and applications.
