摘要: The Andre-Oort conjecture studies geometric properties of certain subvarieties in moduli spaces of abelian varieties.In these talks we discuss the Andre-Oort conjecture through the example of curves in a product of modular curves. Preliminaries on Shimura varieties will be touched upon, and emphasis is put on the analogy between the Manin-Mumford conjecture for tori and the Andre-Oort conjecture.
