Differential equations introducing fast frequencies into the time direction of the solutions are known as highly oscillatory problems. These problems widely occur in mathematical modelling and simulations. To capture the correct behaviour of the solution, standard numerical methods require step size small enough to resolve the high oscillations, which causes heavy workload in practical computations. In this talk, we are going to present some multiscale techniques proposed in recent years in order to enlarge the discretisation step size for the highly oscillatory equations. In particular, we are going to address the uniformly accurate methods which allow to use step size totally independent of the fast frequency. The equations we are going to investigate include the second order wave type equations, some coupled wave and dispersive system and kinetic equations.
