Kuramoto model, and Fitzhugh-Nagumo (FHN) model are two important models in chemical and biological models, they are widely used in neuroscience. We are discussing an important parameter in Kuramoto model- order parameter "r", it describe the degree of sychronization of oscillators in Kuramoto model.
The Fitzhugh-Nagumo model, we are using the traditional cubic shaped nullcline and sigmoid shaped nullclines, but now to simply this problem, we use a piecewise linear nullcline to approximate the original dynamical system and verified that these two systems have many similar properties.
