报告题目：Sign Pattern Matrices―a Branch of Combinatorial Matrix Theory

报告摘要：A sign pattern matrix is a matrix whose entries  are from the set  {+, -, 0}. Sign pattern matrices arise naturally in theory as  well as applications. We present some fundamental concepts, significant results (especially those concerning sign nonsingular sign patterns, L-matrices, sign-solvable linear systems,stability,other eigenvalue problems, and minimum rank problems), and  open problems concerning sign pattern matrices.

报告人简介：

李忠善教授先后从兰州大学、北京师范大学、北卡州立大学获得了数学学士、硕士、和博士学位. 自1991年起在乔治亚州立大学(Georgia State University)数学和统计系任教, 发表学术论文40 余篇和线性代数手册中的符号模式矩阵一章, 在数十个学术会议上和多所高校作过邀请报告. 现任系研究生部主任、博导、艺术与科学学院职称评定委员会会员, 和两个相关杂志的编委会成员.
 
李忠善教授主要从事组合矩阵论的研究，包括符号模式矩阵、非负矩阵、代数图论、布尔矩阵、整数矩阵、最小秩问题、矩阵广义逆、矩阵方程有理解、谱任意符号模式矩阵、代数几何在符号模式矩阵定性理论中的应用、蕴含幂零符号模式矩阵、蕴含正规符号模式矩阵、蕴含幂等符号模式矩阵、强迫特征根互异的符号模式矩阵等研究方向，取得了许多国际领先的重要成果， 被国内外同行广为引用。
