题目: Quantum Field Theory Backgrounds of the Ricci Flow

In his 2002 arXiv paper “The Entropy Formula for the Ricci Flow,” G. Perelman, drawing on insights from quantum field theory and the renormalization group of the nonlinear sigma model, introduced the F-functional and the conjugate heat equation, established the gradient flow structure, and proved the W-entropy for the Ricci flow. These breakthroughs played an important role in the final resolution of the Poincaré conjecture and Thurston’s geometrization conjecture.
In this talk, I will revisit Perelman’s ideas to uncover the quantum field theory backgrounds of the Ricci flow, and then propose several open problems from a stochastic analysis point of view.
