摘要：

For a real number, it is impossible to read its algebraicity/transcendency from its decimal expansion. The situation is quite different in positive characteristic.

More precisely, in this talk we shall show Christol's theorem which characterizes the algebraicity of a formal power series over a finite field by the structure of its coefficients.
