题目: Trapped Surfaces and Isoperimetric Inequalities

摘要: There is a folk belief in general relativity that if matter is sufficiently concentrated into a finite region, the gravitational system ultimately has to collapse to a black hole. Massive singularities are expected to be surrounded by a closed trapped 2-surface. In this talk, we discuss certain isoperimetric inequalities concerning toroidal (marginally) trapped surfaces. Both analytic and numerical examples of toroidal (marginally) trapped surfaces are constructed. The contents of this talk are mainly based on the following recent papers:
