摘要: We study the global-in-time dynamics of a single vortex ring for 3D incompressible Euler equations in the axisymmetric, swirl-free setting. For a broad class of initial data characterized only by the macroscopic invariants of a thin vortex ring, we prove that the vorticity remains concentrated and propagates along the symmetry axis according to the Kelvin–Hicks law. We also identify a robust filamentation mechanism that produces linear-in-time stretching of the vorticity support and dynamical instability in W^{2,\infty}.
