报告题目:A Primer on Hyperbolic Geometry and Teichmüller Theory

摘要:This minicourse provides an accessible entry point into the rich geometry of surfaces and Teichmüller space. We begin with the Riemannian and complex-analytic geometry of the hyperbolic plane and surfaces, moving into hyperbolic trigonometry and the deformation of structures. We will introduce Teichmüller space and explore its topology, parametrization, and its Teichmüller and Weil–Petersson geometry. Building on this framework, we will survey useful concepts in the field, such as the systole, geodesic laminations, Thurston’s earthquakes, and geodesic currents. We may also include topics such as curve counting, randomness, and Morse theoretic methods.
