Liu Ligang, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), is a recipient of the Outstanding Youth award from the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Serving as the Head of the Department of Computational and Applied Mathematics at the School of Mathematical Sciences and the Director of the Anhui Provincial Key Lab of Graphics Computing and Perceptual Interaction, he obtained a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Zhejiang University in 2001. He has been engaged in research in the field of computer graphics, cumulatively publishing over forty papers in top journals such as ACM Trans. on Graphics. He once received the Luzengyong CAD&CG High Technology Award First Prize and the National Natural Science Award Second Prize (Ranking 3rd), and he formerly chaired or served as the program chairman for several international conferences. Currently, he is on the editorial boards of multiple international academic journals, and holds numerous positions including Director of the Geometric Design and Computing Professional Committee of the China Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (CSIAM GDC), Executive Member of the China Graphics Society, Deputy Director of the Intelligent Graphics Special Committee of the China Society of Image and Graphics, Standing Member of the Computer-Aided Design and Graphics Professional Committee of the China Computer Federation, Member of the Steering Committee of the International Geometric Modeling and Processing (GMP) Association, and Secretary-General of the Asia Graphics Association (Asiagraphics).
